WASHINGTON (July 29, 2020)—Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES) announced today that Ruben Verastigui has joined the organization as Digital Communication Manager. In this role, Verastigui will work with CRES leadership to promote commonsense, economy-building clean energy policies across digital and social media platforms.
“Conservative solutions to clean energy and climate challenges are a win for America, our economy, our environment, and our future. Ruben’s experience in developing digital campaigns around conservative policies and principles will be invaluable as we engage with new audiences and build momentum for that message in a multimedia, multiplatform digital world,” said CRES Executive Director Heather Reams. “We’re excited to welcome his creativity, insight and expertise to the CRES team.”
Verastigui previously served as the Director of Digital Strategy for the Senate Republican Conference, where he used creative digital messaging to advance Senate Republican policies. Previously, he was the Digital Director for the United States Congress Joint Economic Committee. Prior to his work on Capitol Hill, Verastigui was the Senior Designer for the Republican National Committee. He also has worked for nonprofits and digital media agencies.
“Conservatives, especially young conservatives, care deeply about environmental issues and energy innovation, and are sick of being told that we have to destabilize our entire economy for a miniscule reduction in emissions,” said Verastigui. “I look forward to using my skills in digital design and strategy to help CRES communicate to a wider audience commonsense clean energy solutions that rebuild instead of tear down the U.S. economy.”
According to recent polling issued by CRES and The Western Way, a majority of Republican and Republican-leaning voters agree making investments in clean energy are important to our nation’s effort to rebuild the economy after the coronavirus shutdown. As Republicans increasingly demand smart climate policy that champions clean energy, CRES is building out its staff to ensure that these conservative voters have a voice in Washington and beyond the Beltway. Verastigui is CRES’ fifth hire of the year.
Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES) engages Republican policymakers and the public about responsible, conservative solutions to address our nation’s energy, economic, and environmental security while increasing America’s competitive edge.
